We process the minimum personal data needed to provide profit analytics: order totals, line items, and customer name/email only when displayed to the merchant in the app or exports. We do not use data for purposes beyond this.
This policy and our Privacy Policy describe what we process and why. Merchants install the app under these terms.
Profit Pie runs in the Shopify admin on behalf of the merchant. We do not sell customer personal data. We do not make automated decisions with legal or significant effects on customers.
Data in transit is encrypted with HTTPS/TLS, including all calls to Google and Shopify APIs and all database connections. Stored data is encrypted at rest with AES-256 (MongoDB Atlas), Google OAuth tokens are additionally encrypted by our application with AES-256-GCM before storage, and application secrets are kept in Fly.io's encrypted secrets store. OAuth tokens are only used on our servers and are never sent to the browser. Each shop's data is isolated, and access to production systems is limited to authorized Primitive Labs staff. Customer name and email are not stored in our database. Merchant business data is retained while the app is installed.
